How to make Valentine’s Day popcorn party mix
When it comes to Valentine’s Day treats, a creative snack is this colorful popcorn. It not only looks like something Cupid concocted but is also delicious.
Keep in mind that you do need to prepare different flavors of popcorn: pink lemonade, red cherry, and chocolate. Each one is yummy on its own, but when you mix in all three with M&Ms, the combination is beyond delicious.
You can prepare this Valentine’s Day popcorn party mix ahead of time. Perhaps you want to give it away in individual containers or bags, or simply serve in a bowl to celebrate love and friendship.
Valentine’s Day popcorn party mix recipe
Ingredients
- 1 cup of Pink lemonade candy popcorn (instructions below)
- 1 cup of Red Cherry candy popcorn (instructions below)
- 1 cup of Chocolate candy corn (instructions below)
- 1 cup of Kettle corn – any brand
- 1 cup of Red Chocolate melting wafers
- 1/4 cup Red M&Ms – Traditional
- 1/4 cup Pink M&Ms – Traditional
- ¼ cup White M&Ms –
- ¼ cup Valentines Day candy corn
- ¼ Pink and white cake pearls- Wilton
Ingredients for the pink lemonade, red cherry, and chocolate popcorn:
- 2 ( 6 ) cups of popcorn, 2 for each flavor
- 2 ( 6 ) cups granulated sugar, 2 for each flavor
- 1/2 ( 3 ) cup water, ½ for each flavor
- 1 ( 3 ) tablespoon butter, 1 for each flavor
- 1 packet of Cherry Kool-aid
- 1 packet of Pink Lemonade Kool-aid
- 1 packet of hot cocoa mix
- 1/4 ( ¾ ) teaspoon salt, ¼ for each flavor
How to make pink lemonade flavor popcorn:
- Place popcorn in a large bowl (you’ll need room to stir the candy mixture in!)
- In a medium pot over medium-high heat, bring sugar, Pink Lemonade Koolaid packet, water, and butter to a boil.
- Reduce heat to medium and boil, stirring constantly, for 3 minutes.
- Pour over1 cup of popcorn, stirring to coat (make sure you work quickly!).
- Spread on baking sheets lined with wax paper and let dry for 1-2 hours
until no longer sticky
How to make red cherry flavor popcorn:
- Place popcorn in a large bowl (you’ll need room to stir the candy mixture in!)
- In a medium pot over medium-high heat, bring sugar, Kool Aid mix, water, and butter to a boil.
- Reduce heat to medium and boil, stirring constantly, for 3 minutes.
- Pour over 1 cup of popcorn, stirring to coat (make sure you work quickly!).
- Spread on baking sheets lined with wax paper and let dry for 1-2 hours until no longer sticky.
How to make chocolate flavor popcorn:
- Place popcorn in a large bowl (you’ll need room to stir the candy mixture in!)
- In a medium pot over medium-high heat, bring sugar, hot cocoa packet, water, and butter to a boil.
- Reduce heat to medium and boil, stirring constantly, for 3 minutes.
- Pour over 1 cup of popcorn, stirring to coat (make sure you work quickly!).
- Spread on baking sheets lined with wax paper and let dry for 1-2 hours until no longer sticky.
Directions
- In a large bowl add all ingredients and toss to combine.
- Serve in cellophane or individual paper bags, or in a large bowl.
