The easiest banana bread recipe
Baking a delicious banana bread is so easy thanks to this foolproof recipe.
This recipe is so easy that it’s perfect to get the kids to help you. Little ones can measure the ingredients, mash the banana and even mix everything. It can be so fun. That way you spend quality time together and they will enjoy their breakfast or snack even more.
In case you don’t have very ripe bananas on hand, you can speed up the ripening process by putting them whole and skinned in a preheated oven at 25oF, for 10 minutes.
You can add raisins and pecans to this banana bread or chocolate chips. The possibilities are endless when it comes to taking advantage of those ripe bananas!
If you’re not ready to make this easy banana bread, you may also freeze any ripe bananas you have on hand so you can use them later.
Banana bread recipe
Ingredients
- 1 stick of butter
- 1/3 cup of sugar
- 1 egg
- 2 cups flour
- 3-4 bananas
- 1 tablespoon of baking powder
- Pinch of salt
- Pinch of nutmeg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350˚F.
- Cover a loaf pan with parchment paper.
- In a bowl, beat the butter and sugar with an electric mixer until smooth.
- Add the egg and continue beating.
- Add the dry ingredients: flour, baking powder, salt and nutmeg and continue beating until a uniform mixture is formed.
- Add the bananas and vanilla and mix well.
- Turn off the electric mixer and add the raisins and walnuts. Mix with a spatula so that everything is incorporated.
- Pour the mixture into the pan and bake for 55 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center of the bread comes out dry.
- Let cool completely before cutting.
