Make game night, movie night or taco Tuesday even more fun with these yummy taco cups. Kids love the taste and they are the perfect size for their hands. Grown ups also can’t help but having more than one, since they are so good!

You can serve these bite size cups with guacamole, chopped tomato and other garnishes or place little bowls with all the condiments so everybody customizes theirs. Since they are handheld, these tacos in a crunchy cup are perfect for any get together. This year I will make a couple of batches for the Big Game.

How many servings does this recipe make?

This makes 12 taco cups and I estimate each adult will have 3 to 4. If you have teenagers at home, I would estimate each teen will eat 5 to 6 taco cups.

If you are a vegetarian or prefer plant-based protein, use Beyond Beef or Impossible Burger.

What can I serve taco cups with?

You can serve taco cups with guacamole, salsa, shredded cheese and sour cream. They also go really well with chips and dips, baked chicken taquitos and Mexican street corn.

What equipment do you need to make taco cups?

Taco cups recipe

Serves 4

Ingredients

  • 1 lb or 450 gr lean ground beef, turkey, Beyond Meat or chicken
  • 1 packet taco seasoning
  • 1/2 cup salsa, optional
  • 24 wonton wrappers
  • 1 cup shredded 4 cheese Mexican Blend
  • 1/4-1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/4-1/2 cup guacamole
  • 1/4 cup fresh, diced tomatoes
  • 1/2 cup salsa, optional
  • Cooking Spray

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F or 204 C.
  • In a large skillet heat olive oil on medium heat.
  • Add the meat, onions, and bell peppers to the pan.
  • Break the meat up and cook completely.
  • Drain oil from the meat mixture.
  • Add in one packet of taco seasoning and 1/4 cup water.
  • If adding salsa, add your preferred salsa and mix until well incorporated
  • Add more water as necessary for the preferred consistency.
  • Spray cupcake/muffin tin with nonstick spray
  • Add in one wonton per cup.
  • Add 1 tsp of cheese, then top with another wonton wrapper. If you don’t want the extra cheese, spray a little olive oil between the two wrappers.
  • Add 1 tbsp of cheese and 1 heaping spoonful of the meat mixture
