Holiday Appetizer: Christmas Tree Nachos
When holiday appetizers come to mind, guacamole, christmas trees and nachos don’t necessarily come to mind but they should!
Christmas is a time of celebration and gathering with loved ones. It’s also a time to eat festive foods! If you are looking for some easy appetizers that will be the hit of the party, then these Christmas tree nachos may just do the trick. Like many other Christmas recipes, these come together quickly and easily while still having an impressive presentation. The best part? This appetizer combines guacamole and tortilla chips, which are always crowdpleasers.

How long does guacamole last?
A fresh homemade guacamole will last for up to three days in the refrigerator. Adding some lime juice will help it stay green. Make sure you seal it tight so it doesn’t oxidize.
How can you avoid guacamole turning brown?
Guacamole will typically turn brown due to oxidation. To avoid this, make sure you are storing the guacamole in an airtight container. The guacamole should stay fresh and green for up to three days in the refrigerator.
Can I used store guacamole?
Of course you can use pre-made guacamole! It will save you time, too. However, making your own guacamole is so easy, I highly recommend it. Here is my quick guac recipe.
What avocados should I use for the guac?
Hass avocados are the best ones for fresh guacamole. Their smooth texture is perfect for mashing them up.
Do I need a molcajete to make guacamole?
No, you can use a fork to smash the avocado or if you want it really smooth, you can puree in the blender. I do prefer the molcajete or fork technique so you can still see tiny chunks of avocado.
