Can you make this dip without bacon?

If you want to make this a vegetarian recipe, skip the bacon or use artificial bacon bits to keep the smoky touch.

How can I make a healthier version of the baked potato dip?

If you ware watching your fat intake, you may use light sour cream and reduced fat cream cheese. You may also substitute the sour cream for Greek yogurt, which will add protein without changing the texture or favor profile too much.

Should I store leftover dip?

Food safety experts do not recommending storing any leftovers that have been at room temperature for over 2-3 hours. If before serving you realize you made too much dip, store in an airtight container for up to 24 hours.

Is there a spicy version of this recipe?

If you like a kick of heat, you can add two teaspoons of hot sauce to the mix. Of course you can add even more, but I don’t like my food too spicy. My personal favorite is the Tabasco Chipotle sauce because of its smokiness.
