How to make the perfect Sparkle Cake for Frozen fans
This stunning sparkle cake is perfection for Frozen fans. Ever since Frozen 2 showed Elsa, Anna, Olaf and Kristoff’s new adventures, this recipe has been one of our favorites for kids birthday parties.

Recipe: Frozen inspired Sparkle Cake
Makes 1 large 9 inch 3 layered cake
Funfetti Cake Ingredients
- 3 9 inch round cake pans
- 3 sheets of parchment paper
- 1 10 inch round cake board
- 1 C whole milk
- 2 tsp pure vanilla extract
- 1 C unsalted sweet cream butter, softened
- 2 C sugar
- 3 C flour
- 1 tbsp baking powder
- 5 large egg whites
- 2 cups blue and white funfetti sprinkles
- Blue and white snowflake sprinkles
Sparkle Cake Directions:
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F and spray all 3 cake pan with Pam baking spray and set aside
- In a medium mixing bowl, whisk together the milk and vanilla and set aside
- Using a standing mixer, beat together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour and baking powder
- Alternating between the milk and dry ingredients, gradually pour into the butter mixture. Mixing on low to medium speed until combined
- Using another large mixing bowl and a hand mixer, beat the eggs until stiff peaks form
- Fold into the cake batter
- Mix in the 2 cups of sprinkles
- Divide the batter evenly between the three cake pans
- Bake in the oven for 23-26 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean in the center
- Allow the cakes to cool completely before removing from cake pans
- Place the cakes onto a cutting board
- Using a cake slicer, remove the domes from the cakes
- Place one layer of cake onto the cake board
How to make vanilla frosting for the sparkle cake
Vanilla frosting ingredients
- 3 C unsalted sweet cream butter, softened
- 6 C powdered sugar
- 2 tbsp pure vanilla extract
- 5-6 tbsp heavy whipping cream
- 1 1/2 C blue and white funfetti sprinkles
- Sky blue gel food coloring
- 1 large piping bag with star tip
- 3 disposable piping bags
Vanilla frosting directions:
- Using a standing mixer, beat all ingredients together until stiff peaks form. About 5-7 minutes
- Scoop about 1 C of frosting onto the first layer and smooth out with a angled spatula
- Place the second layer of cake onto the first layer of frosting
- Scoop another cup of frosting onto the second layer of cake and smooth with evenly
- Place the last layer of cake onto the second layer of frosting
- Scoop 1/2 C of frosting into the large piping bag
- Scoop 1/2 C of the white frosting into 1 of the disposable piping bags
- Scoop 1/2 C of frosting into 1 bowl and mix in a few about 2 drops of sky blue gel food coloring
- Scoop another 1/2 C of frosting into a second bowl and mix in about 4-6 drops of sky blue gel food coloring
- Scoop the colors into the disposable piping bags
- Using remaining frosting and frost entire cake
- Cut the tip off the disposable piping bags
- Alternating between the three colors, pipe lines of the three colors onto the entire cake.
- Smooth evenly so that the colors blend
- Using the funfetti sprinkles, cover the bottom of the cake
Chocolate Drips Ingredients
- 1 C white chocolate chips
- 1 Disposable piping bag
Directions
- Melt the chocolate chips and scoop into the piping bag
- Cut the tip off and pipe drips along the top of the cake edge
- Using the large piping bag with star tip, pipe dollops of frosting around the top of the cake
- Sprinkle some funfetti sprinkles on top!
For best results, store covered in the fridge overnight. That way it will be easier to cut into slices. If you have any leftovers, enjoy a slice of your Frozen Sparkle cake with a cup of coffee or tall glass of milk.
