Dare to face and conquer your fears
Do you face your fears? Or do you allow them to paralyze you? We may not like to admit it, but too many times we let our fears take over and prevent us from being the best version of ourselves. If you don’t face your fears, life will pass by and leave you with anxiety rather than joy, and frustrations instead of achievements.
Of course it’s very easy to give advice; the challenge is to do what needs to be done. However, it’s also true that you need to work hard to achieve anything that’s worth it. There have been times when I thought I could not do something, and somehow found the strength to keep on going. That led me to accomplish things I never thought I could do. I try to remember that every time I face my biggest fears: fear of failure, fear of embarrassment, fear of being wrong.
Regarding how scared I am of failing, there is something that helps me when I feel that I lack the courage to just take a leap of faith. I wonder what’s the worst that could happen? And I answer myself saying that the worst that can happen is to recognize my mistake and then try something else. Is it really that bad to keep getting up after you fall? Not really. In the end that’s what life is about. Learning from mistakes. Learning to laugh at ourselves and not taking life so seriously.
However, none of this is possible if you let your fears overcome you. Believe it or not, you have everything you need to draw that invisible strength, to breathe deep, to silence the inner voices that try to convince you that you cannot do something. When you face your fears, you will see that you’re full of energy, adrenaline and satisfaction. What’s even more amazing? You’ll realize that what seemed so terrible and complicated is merely a bump in the road that you can leave behind.
So dare to take the first step to be stronger, more courageous and not let your fears stop you from moving forward. Believe me: it’s worth it. That old saying that nothing ventured nothing gained is truly wise. Are you brave enough? I hope you realize you are.
