How to do your makeup like Taylor Swift
Award-winning singer Taylor Swift once more looked flawless at the 2012 American Music Awards. If you want to recreate her look, which is ideal for the holidays, here’s how.
Taylor Swift’s makeup artist, Lorrie Turk, said Taylor wanted a “high-impact look, and we needed one that could also be easily altered to go into her performance look.” Not an easy feat, considering the time constraints artists have during these kinds of awards shows.
How to recreate Taylor Swift’s makeup
Lorri Turk lightly buffed COVERGIRL NatureLuxe Silk Foundation onto Taylor’s face with a synthetic foundation brush, and powdered only through the center of her face to leave a nice dewy finish on her skin. “I then lightly brushed on TruBlend Minerals Blush in True Romance for some soft color and shimmer,” said Turk.
To define the singer’s eyes, Lorrie Turk used COVERGIRL Intense Shadow Blast in Brown Bling as a base, applied with her fingertip. Next, she brushed on with the help of an eyeshadow brush Eye Enhancers 1-kit shadow in Brown Smolder all over the lid, from the lash-line to just beneath her brow bone and her lower lash-line. “Using Liquiline Blast Eyeliner in Black Fire, I then lined her upper and lower lash-line heavily, blending up and out to eliminate hard lines, leaving her eyes soft and smoky,” explained the makeup artist. The last touch? Several coats of the new LashBlast Clump Crusher mascara in Very Black.
Since Taylor Swift’s eyes were the focal point of her face and makeup, Lorrie Turk kept her lips very neutral and natural. She used NatureLuxe Gloss Balm in Grenache, applying it directly from the tube.
