When it comes to back to school season, so many of us get so stressed out that we need all the easy lunchbox hacks that we can get. Not only do we want to include tasty and nutritious foods, but we want to make sure our children eat what is in their lunchbox! Here are some easy lunchbox hacks that can help you solve a couple of problems you may be facing.

Why not make enough sandwiches for the entire week and freeze them? They’ll taste just as good and save you time fretting about it. You can also make wraps, slice them in 4 and freeze in individual zippered bags. Save even more time by having string cheese, carrot sticks, grapes, and beef sticks already sorted into containers for quick convenience.

Prep a Week’s Worth of Meals at Once

Freeze Drinks for Ice Packs

If there simply isn’t enough room in your child’s lunch box for an ice pack, try freezing their drinks instead.

Make Your Own Peanut Butter and Jelly Uncrustables Make your own large batch of PB&J “Uncrustables” and keep them in the freezer until you need them.  Or just use jelly if your child’s school is nut-free.

Keep Apple Slices Fresh with Saran or Plastic Wrap Do your children complain that their apple slices are brown by lunchtime? Go ahead and cut them, saran wrap them around the core, and this problem is solved.

Make Your Own “Lunchables” Use divided storage containers to create your own Lunchables for the kids and include healthy options to go along with their little dessert. Make sure to include crackers, their favorite cheese cubes or slices, turkey or roast beef slices, and grapes or other fresh fruit.

Use Cookie Cutters For Fun Sandwiches Shake things up a bit by using cookie cutters to create fun shapes after you make your child’s sandwiches. Hearts, stars, cars, and trees are only a few shapes that will surprise and delight your kid!
