Splashing up my life

2014-07-30 15.38.34-1Sponsored post disclaimer 2Summer isn’t over yet and I am enjoying every single second, especially since I decided to splash up my life a bit. It’s no secret I have been traveling a bit too much for the past few months, and even though I feel very blessed to be able to do so, the time had come to make a few changes. Not because I was bored with my life, but rather because I wanted to enjoy more time with my kids.
This summer not only have I spent more time splashing up my life in the pool or at the beach, but actually just being with my children. It’s even allowed me to connect with them on a deeper level, probably because they see me more relaxed and not running from one place to another. We had time to talk, a lot, and sometimes my kids surprised me with their conversations. Yes, we also had disagreements but with two tweens in the house, it’s impossible for everybody to be on the same page always.
As a mom, what’s been clearer than ever is that our kids are constantly watching us. They’re constantly monitoring what we say and what we do. I’ve always known this but feel more aware of it as my son has begun 7th grade and has stronger opinions about the world and those around him. In that sense, I couldn’t be happier to have let go of my fear of missing out and instead have embraced the joy of the everyday.
I know that now that school has already started, the luxury of relaxing with no homework or projects came to an end, but at least the memories I will have of this summer in particular will be priceless.
Have you ever felt like you needed to splash up your life? Have you found ways to reenergize? If not, I hope this post encourages you to find ways of doing things a bit differently so you can enjoy more. I’ll be collaborating in the next few weeks with V8 Splash to inspire you to keep your family refreshed and hydrated, and also, think for a second about what you can do to add more fun to your own life.
