L’Oreal Paris introduced their new celebrity spokespeople at the glam SLS hotel in South Beach a few weeks ago. We got to chat with celebrity makeup artist Claudia Betancur, who has glammed up some of the most famous Latinas on Spanish-language TV and in Colombia, and with Marcos Carrasquillo, who’s known among Hispanic celebrities as the hair-dresser to fix all their bad hair day problems.
It was great to learn super useful beauty and hair tricks. For example, Claudia Betancur taught me how to do your eyes with 3 products: Infallible long lasting eye shadow, Infallible gel eyeliner and mascara. I have used her tips during my last trips and I can say that the result is great, especially when you don´t have time for touch-ups. Just apply a light metallic eyeshadow all over your lid, use the gel eyeliner to define and apply mascara. To glam up for a night out, just add more eyeliner and mascara.
Marcos Carrasquillo also taught me a great tip. I am a fan of any product that has argan oil because it leaves my hair soft and shiny. However, I do feel some oils tend to weigh my hair down. That’s not a bad thing when I am wearing my hair curly, but it’s not the ideal when you blow dry your hair. Marcos explained to me you should never apply argan oil products to dry hair unless you warm it up in your hands. Ideally, just apply when your hair is wet. It does make a huge difference.
I also tried out the nail colors and opted for the golden Because I’m Worth It. It looked very glamorous. Others preferred Violet Vixen, which I have on my list of great nail polishes for fall.
It was fun to combine tips, product sampling and socializing with bloggers. I hope L’Oreal Paris does another event soon. Here are more pictures.
