Help fight bullying by donating a photo
Bullying is never okay. It hurts. It leaves scars that never go away, even if they’re invisible. That’s why today, October 16, I ask you to join me by participating in #SpiritDay. It won’t cost you a cent and no more than a couple of minutes.
You see, Johnson & Johnson will be participating in #SpiritDay to take a stand against bullying and show their support for the LGBT community. Its free Donate A Photo app lets YOU help as well. You can easily download it on your smartphone, choose one of your photos, pick a cause and that’s it!
The featured #SpiritDay causes are The Trevor Project and PFLAG. Selecting one of these causes on Spirit Day will activate J&J donations to that cause. All #SpiritDay donated photos will also have a purple ribbon attached in honor of Spirit Day.
As a Johnson & Johnson Social Influencer For Social Good I am very familiar with Donate a Photo and the way it helps raise much-needed funds for different causes. The two causes highlighted on #SpiritDay are:
The Trevor Project
One photo helps a youth in crisis. For every photo you donate, Johnson & Johnson gives $1 to The Trevor Project. That $1 helps provide support for a young person dealing with a crisis through The Trevor Project’s 24/7 Lifeline. It takes 15 photos to provide one Lifeline call for a young person in need and to fund things like training Lifeline counselors and staff, call center materials and supplies, and computer equipment and software. You can donate a photo to one cause, once a day. For every photo donated to The Trevor Project, Johnson & Johnson Services, Inc. will donate $1 to that cause. You can donate photos to The Trevor Project until November 30, 2014 or until it reaches its goal of $16,000, whichever comes first. The Trevor Project will receive a minimum of $8,000.
PFLAG
One photo protects a child from bullying. For every photo you donate, Johnson & Johnson gives $1 to PFLAG on behalf of the CARE WITH PRIDE™ program. That $1 helps PFLAG provide resources and materials for an anti-bullying session held at a school, to help keep schools safe and protect all children from being bullied. You can donate a photo to one cause, once a day. For every photo donated on behalf of PFLAG, Johnson & Johnson Services, Inc. will donate $1 to that cause. You can donate photos on behalf of PFLAG until October 31, 2014 or until it reaches its goal of $25,000, whichever comes first. PFLAG will receive a minimum of $15,000.
It’s so easy to help others. Please take a few minutes and donate a photo. It can make a world of difference to somebody who needs it.
